I have had this unit for about 3 months now. It was easy to install if you know what you are doing or have any experience with audio systems. I purchased this for several reasons. I use an ipod classic daily, pretty much my sole source, so I wanted ipod controls built into the system. I also wanted multiple imputs, which this has. I ran my ipod from the back of the unit, and hid it in the car as well. However, for additional use this unit offers a front access usb, and another imput for plug n play devices. I run a couple of amps in my system, so I can't comment on the internal amp features or power. However, if you are running after market speakers you should probably invest in an amp anyway. Natually a sub would require it's own amp as well.
The Good:
-If you have a large library, it does search through it fairly quickly. You can search artist / album and his list again and it will pull up a quick dial alphabet, so you can get to that letter then search all O's for example.
- The display has several options for how you want your information to be relayed to you.
The Bad:
-It has this screen effect that runs constantly, I have found how to change it, but not completly discontinue it. I find it quite annoying and espically at night when it will go from dim, to super bright, and back and forth.
-The display is only blue. Probably not that crucial, but I replaced a unit that had multiple color display control which was super nice. Find a color that is close if not dead on to your particular car's internal lights, or just something you prefer.
-The main spin dial. You have all the features of the ipod, but I think that this dial is hard to use. Sometimes you have to push it in, and others you push it to the side or up and down. I have frequently tried to push straight in and it's gone to the left and gone to the wrong screen. Also, to adjust the volume, you rotate the knob. It definitly doesn't spin as easy as some other units I have used.
-ipod functions are all there, but in different orders. If you are on a track sometimes, depending on how quick you just selected the track you can hit back and get back to the album menu to select another track. However, after a specified time period when you hit list again this unit takes you to the main menu agan to select playlist / artist, etc... Really a bummer.
- The display is a little small for me. I would like slightly bigger font. I have yet to find where you can adjust the font, so I assume you can't.
- The display is dim in direct sunlight. I have a Jeep Wrangler, with the top up it isn't too bad, not the best I have seen, or owned before, but it works. However, with the top down, or if direct sunlight comes through the windows, it is all dark, can't really see it well at all.
- The clock. It is either on or off. If it is on, then it is small in the upper left corner. If you press the clock button it turns the clock on or off, not a quick display. When the unit is off the time will display in the center in large font, very readable, but I would like that during opperation as well.
I have been frustrated with this unit for some time, but am reluctant to buy another one now. I felt like I did substancial research before purchasing, and now this unit doesn't meet all my needs. However, I may be too picky and have too many demands. On the surface this unit will work fine for basic use, and has tons of helpful features. I have had Pioneer products for decades and they have always been top notch in quality and reliablity. Now that I am reviewing my post I am changing my rating to 2 stars. I would keep shopping for other units to see if they have some of the specific features you want. Again, if you want to hook up an ipod, be able to control it like you have it in your hand then this unit will work like a charm. If you want more specific features or are picky like me, then keep shopping.

This reciever is evrything and more for what I was looking for with its 7 band eq and a bass boost to boot. Finding songs is easy as pie if you set it up right on your flash drive. The built in high pass cross over works great to clean up the sound stage in my system or to lighting the load if you have factory speakers still. Best receiver I have ever purchased for a small price I like it so much I got a second one for my wifes car.So if you are looking for a radio with a LOT of features like two usb's with Ipod cable included with a small price tag get this one you will love it.

I bought this for my daughter's first car. The improvement in sound is amazing. The ipod and usb hook ups are easy and perfect. The remote is necessary for easy use of the unit. It is a little difficult to navigate the menu while driving without the remote. The is sound pure and clean without harshness or distortion. It has enough power (50w. per channel) to run some decent after market speakers. We bought a sub and 2 amps. for a killer sound system.
