Put in an older Mopar with a Pioneer head unit and 760W amp. Sound good to me.
I'm no audiophile though.

This MSRP is $179 for these speakers, bought it for $75 on Amazon.com, very happy about the price I paid. When I got them installed, they sounded a little bit flat. I heard you have to buy a amplifier for them to sound good. Due to the fact that I drive a camry, I don't really care much about blasting my music, so in that respect, they're perfect for me. The stock speakers have an Ohm rating of 8, and the Pioneer speakers have a rating of 4, so the stock speakers actually sound better to me.

Update: The speakers sound great! And I recently installed a Pioneer GM6400F amplifier and the sound is greatly improved. So get an amplifier to get the most out of your sound system and speakers.
The Toyota JBL system is a poor investment for a sound system upgrade. The OEM deck has a lot of distortion and the music that comes out of it, particularly from the CD player, seems attenuated specially in the higher frequencies. It just sounds like there's a veil between the source and the speakers. It's hard to describe. I'm getting the the Pioneer AVHP3100DVD to replace the deck. I'll keep you posted.
Original:So I was in search for a great upgrade for the front and rear speakers for my 2005 Camry XLE JBL speakers. I basically wanted to get better sound from my aging car and the though the JBL speakers were good, the lack of tweeters does deter from a great listening experience. And I found my car's system to be too boomy since the JBL set has a ReDistributed Subwoofer set up. So the first upgrade that I did were to replace the front and rear speakers with 6x9 5-way. OMG, the sound experience is amazing. They are a great upgrade to the JBL with a crisp, clear sound that is almost night and day with the old JBL. I prefer a Fader setup of R3 to have a more surround feel though I noticed that I will have put the volume to around 50. But I was able to replace all four 6x9 speakers for around $160. What a GREAT BUY!!!
And if you want to save more money, have a local mom-and-pop audio installation do it for you. I had mine done for about $80.
I decided to put a 4 channel 600 watt Pioneer amplifier but that project is pending. And I'm thinking of replacing the dash speakers with Pioneer 2 way speakers. I'll keep you guys posted how that turns out.
So summary, if you want to upgrade your camry sound system, start with these though a new amplifier may be required.

Great great speakers. The bass is almost like "true bass". The clarity is outstanding. I would tell anyone this product is great and needs to be purchased. I think I'll need to purchase an Amp just to get the full effect of what this speaker has to offer. GREAT GREAT BUY!
