It sounds okay, but the volume control is so poorly made that the unit is just about unuseable. Don't buy this if you have a temper, because someone could get hurt. Not worth five dollars.

I needed a knob deck for my log loader and this was the only one I could find with an aux jack for my iPhone. The price is right and it does what it claims. Also a nice touch it has a set of preamps in case you want to add an amp.

Cheap is good and basic is fine, but who makes a radio with no
treble? To muddy, remove the cassette and leave the radio and
input for ipods and sattelite XM and it may actaully be cheaper,
but no treble is unforgivable

I installed the unit in a 1976 Ford Pinto. The radio replaced the original AM radio without having to cut or drill into the dash. I didn't want to alter anything on the car (everything is original) so I wired the left channel into the one speaker in the dash. The stereo reception can be turned off. I live in the countey. Because I am on the fringe of the listening area of the stations I listen to, I was worried about reception. To my surprise the reception is as good as the reception on the radios in my newer cars. I am very happy to have found the radio. I haven't used the tape player.
