Its powerful on-board DSP processor decodes the compressed audio while maintaining near-CD sound quality. Built-in HD radio reception, front panel USB, and plenty more. Click to enlarge.

Front-panel auxiliary input and USB port.

Includes wireless remote.

Bluetooth Ready
Add the BTM60 Bluetooth module and you'll enjoy wireless, hands-free mobile phone operation with caller ID, along with streaming audio from Bluetooth audio devices. You can also answer and place calls using front panel controls.

Front Panel USB Connection
Connect a USB device to the XHD6425's front panel USB port and play MP3/WMA files directly. Most standard USB devices will also receive a charge (DC 5V/500mA).

1-DIN HD Radio Receiver
The XHD6425 features a 1.0 DIN chassis with an anti-theft detachable face. A black/white dot matrix display and rotary encoder control make navigating the device a snap.

HD Radio Tuner
With the XHD6425's built-in HD Radio tuner, you'll enjoy static-free, digital-quality sound over the airwaves. Both HD2 and HD3 FM multicast channels are supported, and broadcasted info like station name, artist and song title on HD Radio channels is displayed. Store your favorite HD stations among the standard 18 FM and 12 AM presets. Enjoy a new standard of radio with no subscription fees.

AM/FM Tuner
In with the new, but not necessarily out with the old. Tune into your favorite non-HD AM and FM stations, and save up to 30 station presets (18 FM/12 AM). Run Auto Station Store when in a new area to add the strongest signals, and easily scan through your presets.

CD/MP3/WMA Playback
Enjoy your favorite CDs and CD-R/RWs with all the standard CD controls (random/repeat/intro/etc.), or go big and burn a MP3/WMA encoded CD-R/RW for hours of music and display of ID3 Tag info.

Convenience Is Key
Dual threw in some features that'll make you love the XHD6425. A programmable turn-on volume keeps you from blowing your ears out when you head to work in the morning--unless that's what you need to wake up. Keyless CD eject means you can grab that CD on your way out without turning on the vehicle. You can also select the confirmation beep for changing settings/presets/etc.

Great Sound
The XHD6425 features an on-board processor that will improve the sound of your compressed MP3/WMA files. Get quick access to electronic volume, bass, treble, balance, and fader controls, or select one of the 5 preset EQ curves--pop, jazz, classic, beat, and rock. A loudness feature is included for low-level listening with punch, and a mute function for quick sound-off.

Input and Output
Two pairs of preamp outputs are provided for system expansion if you want to add to the XHD6425's 17 Watts RMS (50W peak).

A 3.5mm front panel input is also included for use with iPods, MP3 players, or other external audio devices.

What's in the Box
Dual XHD6425 receiver, trim ring, mounting sleeve, wiring harness, installation hardware, installation/owner's manual

"Worse then my stock radio. Customer service rude. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT" 2010-09-06
By Nightshadow
Alright so the title of this review is a little loud but true. I will get right to the main reason I hate this product and would not recommend it to anyone. The reason is that the HD radio cannot be turned off meaning you cannot force analog broadcasts. The reason why this is a real problem is when the radio picks up or loses an HD broadcast it has a very noticeable echo effect. This is very noticeable when you are in a fringe area for HD broadcasts which seems like everywhere. What happens is it constantly picks up and loses the HD broadcast so it has a constant echo effect forcing me to change the station.

So what I did was call Dual Electronics customer service and see if I could trade in the one I bought for a model that had an option to force analog broadcasts, even if I had to pay the difference. I got on the phone with customer service and explained to them my problem and they said they could not do that. So my response was that this was my first time buying a Dual product and I would like for it to be a pleasant one. He responded by saying that same thing "sorry sir I cannot do anything for you". Then I said "so you want me to tell all my friends not to buy Dual Electronics products and to write a bad review about Dual Electronics and he said, and I quote, "yes whatever" so I said "ok" and hung up.

So after all that I was forced to sell the unit on eBay and buy the Kenwood KDC-HD545U which has that option. However the good about the product is that it has great sound and features. I love the aux in and the USB port. So if it had that one option to force only analog broadcasts I would be keeping this unit. But because of that and the fact that Dual customer service is horrendous I will never buy nor would recommend buying any Dual Electronics products ever.

"My USB doesn't work with my iphone" 2010-09-01
By Jon G. Rodriguez (Tampa, FL)
I think the radio is great and everything works fine, the sound is great. However, I had two problems, first you better understand that is bluetooth ready, meaning, it is not included!! you have to buy a bluetooth adapter. Second, my iphone doesn't work with the usb adapter and that was the MAIN reason I bought the damn radio. I am not sure if I have to do a software update or what but that is very, very annoying. If anyone knows how to fix that problem please let me know. Thanks.

Great radio!! excellent feautures for the price.

*This is a real 50watts RMS X 4. I bought also the Dual speaker TS69 and works very nice.

*The MP3 player is very fast.

*The USB port works excellent, you can view details of the files on the radio.

really I like DUAL and its an excellent option for low budget.

"Cheap electronics and poorly designed firmware" 2010-08-30
By Chris (New Jersey, U.S.)
AM band never produced anything but static.

Folder browsing USB drives or MP3 Discs is not intuitive and easy to get lost.

USB jack is only powered when selected.

HD would tune in and out repeatedly when the signal was weak constantly interrupting the music.

No option to turn off HD when signal was weak.

FM band failed after 18 months. Resetting the unit no longer restores the band as it had in the past.

(I'm an electrical engineer - I installed it correctly.)

 "DUAL WINS THE DUEL." 2010-08-29
By W. V. Martin
Put the XHD6425 up against car stereos costing twice as much, and it is still no contest. This baby is remarkable. With built-in CD player, separate auxiliary and USB inputs plus HD radio, this head unit has most of the features any car audio aficionado could want. The remarkable part is you get all these features for less than 80-bucks! I was blown away by the fidelity of HD-FM. Much of the FM material sounds as good-- or better than-- CDs. And I found the tuner was surprisingly sensitive. Not sure all the controls are intuitive. But once you spend a little time with the radio and the instruction manual, you'll pick up the functions. Hats off to Dual. I can't imagine getting a much better radio at any price.
