I just installed these speakers last week, and I have to say they disappointed me. I had 4" stock speakers (Chevrolet Aveo 2007) before and replaced them with these Pioneer, along with a Pioneer DEH-2200UB headunit, and I didn't get the huge difference I was hoping. What I don't like is that they don't have bass at all. Yes, you can turn the bass up from your headunit, but the result isn't good because at medium/high volumes they start distorting. So, keep in mind that you'll get a very 'light' bass with these speakers...
I'll have to buy a subwoofer to fill up the low tones...

Bought these speakers as replacements for a stock set in our travel trailer. Also bought new Pioneer head unit. Huge difference in overall sound quality. New head unit helped with having the ability to adjust sound levels too. The speakers have decent base response, without an amp. or subwoofer, and great highs. For the price, I am very satisfied with these speakers.

I'm a bargain hunter, always have been. I came across the Pioneers while browsing the car audio section of a Electronics store close to our place. The store had a different set of 6 1/2" Pioneer speakers on sale. When I listened to the On-Sale speakers, I thought, for the $45.00 they would be OK. Then I listened to the TS-A1673R's. WAY better sound. They sounded better then the MTX and the set of Alpines they had hooked up, at almost twice the price. I asked the Salesperson working in the department if they where going on sale any time soon, he said No. So I decided to take the cheaper On-Sale set. Turns out they had none left. So, I asked for the department manager, and low and behold suddenly the TS-A1673R's are on sale. Got them for $65.00. Best $65.00 I ever spent. I installed them into the kick panels underneath the dash. Great response for such a small speaker. And they compliment my older 6x9 Pioneers I installed a few years back. Nice shallow depth when installing them surface mount. Always been a fan of Pioneer for Best Bang for Your Buck. And it still holds true. You can't go wrong with these speakers. 5 Stars.

Although these aren't the best speakers on the market today, they are with no doubt better than the factory junk that comes in the vehicle. After figuring out a way to modify and re-use my factory speaker mounts these fit nicely in all 4 doors of my '09 Sierra. Powering them using only what the Pioneer AVH-P3200DVD head unit can feed to them they still sound great, I probably won't put an amp on these just yet. It all depends on how much my future addition of a subwoofer drowns them out.
