Designed to deliver low frequencies in virtually any car audio system, BassLink truly has universal appeal. Small in size but big in output, BassLink requires a mere .75 cubic feet of trunk space yet produces enough bass to wake up the neighborhood.

BassLink consists of a 10-inch subwoofer, 10-inch passive radiator and a 200-watt Class D amplifier housed in a rigid polymer enclosure, all carefully engineered to work together as a unique, integrated system. The extremely versatile BassLink accepts both speaker- and line-level inputs, and it provides an internal low-pass filter, proprietary signal processing and abundant amplification.

The BassLink system features a servo-control circuit that continually monitors the voice coil's position in the magnetic gap and prevents the distortion that occurs when a conventional woofer is overdriven. By integrating cone-excursion information with the instantaneous demands of the music, BassLink can extract loud and deep bass from an enclosure smaller than any before.

BassLink includes a fixed, 2nd-order, high-pass filter that eliminates the possibility of over-excursion below Fb, the resonant (tuned) frequency of the vented box. This allows the excursion-monitoring circuit to focus on the excursion at the more meaningful frequencies at and above Fb. The result is a significant increase in bass output.

User-adjustable controls allow listeners to set the system's response to achieve optimum performance based on the vehicle's cabin gain or transfer function. These controls include: a 0- or 180-degree phase switch; a continuously variable electronic low-pass filter that is adjustable between 70 and 100Hz; variable input sensitivity; and Bass EQ that provides for adjustments between +3 and -6dB. BassLink's frequency response in a typical vehicle is 20 to 100Hz (+/-3dB), but this varies according to the vehicle and user adjustments. At maximum gain, the system can accept inputs as low as 250mV.

BassLink can accept up to four channels of input--to provide nonfading bass--either from line-level signals through four RCA jacks or from high-level signals through a pair of Molex connectors, allowing BassLink to be easily connected to OEM systems. If using the speaker-level inputs, an audio-sense circuit will turn on the amplifier whenever a signal is present. If the RCAs are used, a 12-volt, remote-turn-on lead is required. The system has barrier strip connections for power, ground and remote turn-on.

"Simple to install & Compact" 2010-09-09
By Wintermute (Gainesville, FL)
Pros:

1) Fairly simple to install (includes all mounting hardware

2) Compact

3) Innovative Design: The passive radiator effectively double the surface area of the diaphram.

Cons:

The unit seems to have a life-span of approximately 3 years. I think the built-in amp goes ka-put.

Conclusion:

If you have the room, a sub+enclosure+amp isn't that much pricier, larger, or more complicated to install.

 "Basslink - Second Unit" 2010-08-24
By Dale in Tenn (Tennessee)
Well, my first Basslink lasted 3 years. So why did I get another? Simple, it's such a simple installation and provides just the right amount of performance in my truck (and extended cab with the unit under the seat). I'll like get the original fixed and keep it as spare since these units are not noted for their reliability.

Given the above, if you want good sound, and easy install, and are limited on space, this is a good unit, not great (reliability), but good.

"Makes the Boom, With Half the Room" 2010-07-15
By Jared Anderson
I have been an Audio Enthusiast for quite a few years now. Weather it be the First tiny Rockford Fosgate 8-inch Sub with a homemade box of plywood I had in the beginning, to the Big Boomers I would use from competition. I still have a love for anything that makes great sound.

Recently, I had my old Larger system stolen, and I was looking for a quick fix of bass to keep me going in and out of traffic to work and back.

Infinity, as most of the higher ups know, used to be ULTRA SUPREME quality, and incredibly pricey. As of the recent years, they have decided to offer mid level items to the mass public to help build their name, and of course, make more business.

The Infinity Basslink is, in my opinion, their master brain child for that genre.

It is a solid 10" Woofer, with quality surround (for those of you that don't know, surround is the foam "surrounding" the woof, that allows it to travel back and forth) that can take a beating, and a great cone structure to actually push out multiple different types of bass frequencies at different speeds.

The Box is quite petite, yet still allows for some air to be moved around, allowing more of a boom, making this small package surprisingly impressive. The Exterior plastic cover, and the grill for the speaker itself are very firm, and can take a beating if needed (thought I hope you have it mounted).

The Amp is a 200-Watt Amp. I have nothing against it, it powers the sub to push adequate wattage to the speaker. But as a personal fan of higher end audio equipment, this is the only thing that bugged me, seeing as for the same size of the amp that is placed in the box, they could have put (for the same price) at least a 500-watt, or even higher, D-Class Amplifier (D Class is Digital for those of you out of the know, A and B classes are the normal ones, with large heat sinks, as you can see in the product picture, the "grill" on the right side)

Installation was quite possibly the easiest I have ever done. For me it was a bit easier, due to still have direct leads to my battery for power. But all you have to do for this beast, is plug in power, remote, and audio (from your stereo), and your ready to go. The customization is fairly well done, as the included built-on amp has pretty much all the mainstream toggles and settings that an average person would want to fool with.

I had this in a small commuter Honda Civic Hatchback. At first I placed in the rear, as to use the rear hatch to help the sound accumulate around the roof, to land right in my lap, and perfect listening area. Unfortunately it didn't throw the sound like I anticipated. So I placed the sub directly against the side/floor of the vehicle, allowing the reverberations to work its way through the interior (seats, and floor) and give me a rocking.

As per sound quality, it can handle it all with fairly precise hits. Rap Music with its heavy rolls, and Deep hits are pushed out well, creating a vibration sense when needed. Rock Music with its hard hits, and a quick jabs from some heavy metal testing, worked beyond belief. And a few bits of Electronic Music and Jazz, along with some classic rock allowed this subwoofer to truly impress me.

Over All, I highly recommend this sub woofer for anyone that is either looking for a small package to fit, and still get more form their music. Or from someone who hasn't had a sub woofer in their car, and doesn't want the hassle of buying multiple parts, running wires all over, blowing fuses like crazy, and with this box being so small, Its easier to conceal, so you don't run into many issues with those pesky car thieves.

I Give it 4 out of 5, due to the amp could be better. But for its price, and the quality you get out of it, there is none better.

 "Infinity Basslink" 2010-06-07
By djzoechick
It's a great buy! As many have mentioned earlier, this speaker will compliment - not overpower - the rest of the sound in your car. It hits the low Hip-Hop/R&B bass notes I want to hear, as well as the tight beats of Trance/Techno. The remote sound control fit right underneath my deck. I got it installed at Ultimate Electronics - for a total of $300 (sub+professional install), this investment was worth every penny. I don't think I can go w/out a sub in my car again!
